IPL Auction 2021: With 16.25 Crores, Chris Morris Becomes The Most Expensive Buy At The IPL Auctions

Rajasthan Royals buy Chris Morris for a whopping amount of rupees 16.25 crores. Twitter fans in disarray after the South African bags such a big amount.

IPL Player Auction 2021: South Africa all-rounder Chris Morris was sold at a whopping amount of rupees 16.25 crores. He became the most expensive buy at the IPL Auctions ever! Earlier, this record was held by Yuvraj Singh who was bought for a sum of 16 crore rupees. Last year, Pat Cummins was the most expensive player at 15.5 crore rupees.

Morris is a fast bowler and also lower-middle order batsman who can clear any stadium on any given day. He is a pure asset to the team. In 70 IPL games, Morris has scored 551 runs with a strike rate of 157 and has picked up 80 wickets.

Now Rajasthan Royals will have an overseas bowling option along with Jofra Archer and Mustafizur. Rajasthan picked up K.C. Cariappa, Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman and Shivam Dube along with Morris.

Although Morris’s purchase was the highest so far in the history of IPL Auctions, some fans were unimpressed. See what they wrote on Twitter:
