Setback For CSK! Devon Conway To Miss Initial Stages Of IPL 2024
Following his upcoming surgery for left thumb, Devon Conway is unlikely to be available for the initial stages of IPL 2024 with Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have suffered a significant setback in the lead-up to Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. CSK's star batter Devon Conway sustained a critical injury during the recently held T20I series between New Zealand and Australia, leading to a fractured left thumb. As per Cricbuzz, Conway has been ruled out of action for at least eight weeks.
Following his upcoming surgery for left thumb, Conway is anticipated to remain inactive until at least May. Consequently, he is unlikely to be available for the initial stages of IPL 2024 with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). However, Conway's recovery trajectory suggests that he should regain fitness in time for the second half of IPL and the T20 World Cup in June.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced a significant setback with Devon Conway's absence, as he was slated to play a pivotal role in their batting lineup. Conway's recent good form, highlighted by a century in the Test match against England earlier this year, underscores his importance to Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) success in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
Notably, the 32-year-old won player of the match award in last year's IPL final against Gujarat Titans.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) began their training camp last week, without captain MS Dhoni. The five-time IPL winner's non-attendance is attributed to his participation in a pre-wedding function for Indian business tycoon Anant Ambani.
Due to the impending general elections in India, only 21 matches of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 have been scheduled thus far.
Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is set to kickstart on March 22, with the opening match featuring MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings (CSK) against Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
The schedule for the remaining Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 matches will be unveiled only after the polling dates for the Lok Sabha elections, slated for this year, are announced. The first 22 IPL 2024 matches will be played until April 7, with further details pending release.
