MI vs KKR IPL 2023: Sunday (16th April) was very special for cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar and his son Arjun Tendulkar as the talented young all-rounder finally made his debut in world's richest T20 tournament during Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) Match. Arjun was named in Mumbai's playing XI for their IPL 2023 match against Kolkata Knight Riders. He did not get a chance to bat but bowled two impressive overs. Despite Kolkata's defeat against Mumbai in this match, Shah Rukh Khan took to Twitter to share his happiness on Arjun's debut.

Arjun Tendulkar's association with Mumbai Indians started in 2021. He did not get a chance to play in 2021 and 2022 editions of the tournament, finally making a dream debut in 2023 season of Indian Premier League.

Sachin Tendulkar was present at the team's practice session on Saturday and then in the dressing room before the MI vs KKR match on Sunday. In 15-year history of IPL, Sachin and Arjun are the first father-son duo to play in the tournament and that too for the same team. Sachin represented Mumbai Indians for six years, from 2008 to 2013. Arjun was acquired by five-time IPL winners Mumbai Indians during the 2021 IPL auction for his base price of Rs 20 lakh.
