IPL 2021, RR Vs SRH: Hyderabad Debacle Continues Despite Captain Change, Royals Win By 55 Runs

IPL 2021: Jos Buttler was Man of the Match during Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Buttler’s innings of 124 in 64 balls were the difference maker between the two sides.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 55 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. RR had scored 220 runs in the 20 overs in the first innings. In response, SRH scored 165 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

Earlier in the match, SRH had won the toss and decided to bowl first. Despite winning the toss, SRH could not capitalize on it. This time, Kane Williamson was captaining the Hyderabad side. The team announced the change of their captain in the past week. David Warner did not play in today’s match. In place of him, Afghanistan’s Mohammed Nabi was brought in the team.

Rajasthan’s out-of-form batsman, Jos Buttler got himself in nicely and played a brilliant inning of 124 in 64 balls. He was supported by his captain, Sanju Samson. Rashid Khan was the pick of the bowlers who picked up one wicket for his 24 runs.

When SRH came out to bat with Bairstow and Pandey and scored an opening partnership of 57 runs. None of the batsmen were able to put on a good score after getting ok starts. For RR, Chris Morris and Mustafizur Rahman picked three wickets apiece.

With this loss, Sunrisers Hyderabad becomes stagnant at the number eight position. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals have climbed up and reached the position on the points table in IPL.
