Will CSK Skipper MS Dhoni Set Sail 'Down Under' To Play The Big Bash League After Culmination Of IPL 2020?

MS Dhoni to play in BBL 2020? - With the think tank in the BBL deciding to increase the number of foreign players in the team from two to three per team, all the franchises are looking to add more foreign talent to their roster. While Raina, Dhoni and Yuvraj bring on table a lot of experience, the highly popular and revered cricketers could also enhance the brand of the already famed BBL with their star power.

It might be shocking but is also the brute reality that the highly consistent 3-time champions Chennai Super Kings will not feature in the play-offs of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) for the first time in their decade long campaign in the coveted Indian T20 league.

MS Dhoni's much awaited return to competitive cricket did not pan out the way it should have been as 'Thala' and his 'Yellow Army' will sooner than later be eliminated from the qualification race courtesy their worst ever performance in the IPL.

With speculations rife that Dhoni might don the 'Yellow Jersey' for yet another season in the IPL, there is a bright possibility that the legend might be heading 'Down Under' to complete in the Big Bash League (BBL).

If one were to closely look at a report in cricket.com.au, many BBL franchises are keen to have the services of Indian T20 stalwarts like MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh for the upcoming season.

With the think tank in the BBL deciding to increase the number of foreign players in the team from two to three per team, all the franchises are looking to add more foreign talent to their roster.

While Raina, Dhoni and Yuvraj bring on table a lot of experience, the highly popular and revered cricketers could also enhance the brand of the already famed BBL with their star power.

It will have to be seen what route do Dhoni and his former CSK team mate Suresh Raina charter for playing in the Big Bash League. They would need to seek a no objection certificate from the the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after complying to the policy of the Indian board regarding allowing Indian players to play in foreign leagues.

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has already taken permission to play cricket in foreign leagues after announcing his retirement from both IPL and international cricket. However, Raina and Dhoni are very much part of the CSK team under the IPL fold.

The possibility of the famed Yuvi-Raina-Dhoni trio of playing in the IPL is quite high as they wont have any cricketing commitments when when the new BBL season kicks-off in December later this year.

The Indian cricket team will also fly out to Australia to take on the 'Aussies' for an all-format bilateral assignment, which commences with the first ODI scheduled to be played at the SCG on November 27.

India are set to lock horns with Australia in their backyard after the high octane series got the official nod from the Australian government. Sydney and Canberra will play host to the first set of ODIs, which form part of the full-fledged series between the powerhouses of world cricket.
