'Any Chance BCCI Could Locate That Money?': Brad Hodge Reveals Kochi Tuskers Still Owes Money To Its Players

Brad Hodge played 14 IPL matches for the Kochi Tuskers, scoring 285 runs at an average of 35.63. He was bought by the team at the IPL auction 2010 for $ 4,25,000.

Former Australia batsman Brad Hodge took to Twitter on Monday to ask if the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) can help him get his dues for representing the ousted IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the 2010 leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The 46-year-old played 14 IPL matches for the Kochi Tuskers, scoring 285 runs at an average of 35.63. He was bought by the team at the IPL auction 2010 for $ 4,25,000.

"Players are still owed 35% of their money earned from ten years ago from the @IPL representing Kochi tuskers. Any chance @BCCI could locate that money?," Hodge tweeted, while taking a dig at the BCCI.

According to Hodge's tweet, it seems that Kochi Tuskers Kerala still owe him more than $ 1,27,000.

The legendary Aussie cricketer was reacting to a news report in the Telegraph that stated that the Indian women's team had not received the International Cricket Council's (ICC) prize money of $ 5,50,000 from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), after finishing as runners-up of the T20 World Cup in Australia last year.

The Kochi Tuskers were chucked out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after just one season in 2011 for not paying an annual payment of Rs 155.3 crore. The franchise was represented by players like Rahul Dravid, S Sreesanth and Mahela Jayawardene.

Meanwhile, BCCI suspended IPL 2021 after several players and their family members started testing Covid-19 positive. The Indian cricket team will undergo 14-days tough quarantine in Mumbai before flying to Southampton on June 2.
