IPL 2022: S Badrinath Names Retention List Of Chennai Super Kings

In addition to the existing eight teams, two new franchises - Ahmedabad and Lucknow - will be seen playing in IPL 2022.

New Delhi: The auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is expected to take place next month. BCCI has asked all the IPL franchises to submit their list of retained players till November 30. Each franchise is allowed to retain a maximum of four players ahead of IPL 2022.

Talking about IPL 2021 champion Chennai Super Kings, there is every possibility that they will retain MS Dhoni. Former India and CSK batsman S Badrinath took to twitter to name 4 players Chennai Super Kings (CSK) should retain ahead of the auction.

In addition to the existing eight teams, two new franchises - Ahmedabad and Lucknow - will be seen playing in IPL 2022. Talking about Chennai Super Kings, the Yellow Army have won IPL title 4 times under Dhoni's captaincy. Only Mumbai Indians have won the IPL trophy (5 times) more than CSK.

Recently, Chennai Super Kings' skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni was cheered on when he announced that before he decides to retire his last T20 game would be in Chennai but said he does not know "whether it is next year or in five years' time".

Dhoni himself revealed that no decision had been taken yet on him continuing with CSK next season.

"I have always planned my cricket. The last game I played was in Ranchi. The last home game in ODI was at my hometown in Ranchi. So, hopefully, my last T20 will be in Chennai. Whether it's next year or in 5 years' time, we don't really know," Dhoni said during CSK's IPL victory celebration.
