Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bat first after winning the toss. The team was off to a good start as openers Shikhar Dhawan and Jhonny Bairstow powered their team's total to 46 runs in 5 overs. Dhawan finds it tough to bat against Ashwin and hence RR skipper Sanju Samson gave the last over of the powerplay to the senior spinner.
On the very first ball of Ashwin's over, Dhawan went for a big shot over mid-on, but Jos Butler, fielding at that position, jumped high to bag an absolutely stunning one-handed to send the opener back to the pavilion for a personal score of 12.
