IPL 2022, MI vs PBKS: Punjab Kings Beat Mumbai Indians By 12 Runs

Yet again, Mumbai Indians' bowling attack failed to deliver. Apart from Jasprit Bumrah, other Mumbai bowlers were smashed for runs.

New Delhi: Punjab Kings defrated Mumbai Indians by 12 runs in a nail-biing thriller at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. With this win, Mumbai Indians have now lost five matches in a row.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians won the toss and invited Punjab to bowl first. Openers Shikhar Dhawan (70) and Mayank Agarwal (52) were on fire tonight as the duo scored fifties to help Punjab Kings post a mammoth 198 run total.

Dhawan was exceptional tonight with the bat as even after Mayank departed, he continued being the aggressor even after Bairstow and Livingstone fell early. In the last few overs, Jitesh Sharma scored a quickfire 15-ball 30 while hard-hitter Shahrukh hammered a couple of sixes in the final over. In the last three overs, Punjab batters managed to get 47 runs.

Yet again, Mumbai Indians' bowling attack failed to deliver. Apart from Jasprit Bumrah, other Mumbai bowlers were smashed for runs. All-rounders Kieron Pollard or Brevis were not asked to bowl tonight as Rohit Sharma was content with the five bowlers.
