IPL 2020: Rajasthan Royals Appoint Franchise's Brand Ambassador Shane Warne As 'Team Mentor' For IPL 13

Australian leg spin great Shane Warne will don a double hat for Rajasthan Royals in the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League as the IPL franchisee appointed him as the mentor of the team besides his existing role as the team's brand ambassador. Warne has enjoyed a long and successful association with the Rajasthan Royals since the inception of the Indian Premier league (IPL) as he led the team to their maiden and only title win in the inaugural edition of the T20 tournament. Warne was overjoyed with the announcement of his additional role with the franchise and expressed his joy and excitement in being entasked to perform the role of a 'Team Mentor' with the franchisee he deems as family In his new role of a 'Team Mentor', Warne will join hands with fellow Australian mate and RR head coach Andrew McDonald. The Australian internationals were were teammates in their state side Victoria from 2003-07. "On my dual role, it's always a great feeling to be back with Royals, my team, my family. It's exciting to be working across all elements of this franchise that I love," Warne was quoted as saying in a press release. "We have worked towards our vision of becoming a global team that fans around the world love and follow. Hopefully, we can have a successful season and achieve big things in the coming months," added Warne. Warne has a task on his hands with Royals management team to boost and strengthen their international fanbase. He will also be campaigning for Royals' philanthropic initiatives focused towards women empowerment with the Royal Rajasthan Foundation, the CSR arm of the franchise. Adding on the appointment of Shane Warne, COO Jake Lush McCrum said, "He is one of the all-time greats of the game and is very special to us here at Rajasthan Royals. "Shane is someone who exemplifies our vision of driving innovation and we’re delighted to have him with us supporting both the growth of our franchise globally, while also motivating our players for success on the field.
