In a nail-biting finish, Ravindra Jadeja finished off in style with consecutive sixes off the last two balls, beating the target of 172 set by KKR and at the same time quashing its playoff hopes.

The result confirms league leaders Mumbai Indians' qualification for the playoffs.
Jadeja scored 30 off 11 balls and followed up Ruturaj Gaikwad's 72 and Ambati Rayudu's 38 to take CSK to their second consecutive win. Chasing KKR's 172/5 wickets, CSK ended their innings on 178/4 wickets off 20 overs.
After the defeat KKR remains on the fifth place on 12 points with one game left to play, however, owing to a lower run rate, they rank below the Kings XI Punjab, with whom they share 12 points.
Nitish Rana and Dinesh Karthik helped Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take 66 runs from the last five overs of their innings to help them to a total of 172/5 wickets , which however proved futile as CSK managed to keep a lid on the runs much of the first innings and with Rayudu's explosive 72 runs, managed to clinch the contest. Nitish Rana played the innings of his life after getting dismissed at golden duck in the previous match.
