Asia Cup 2022: Babar Azam-Led Pakistan Players To Wear Black Armband To Show Solidarity For Flood Victims
Pakistan cricket team players will be seen wearing black armbands in their Asia Cup match against India to express solidarity with the people affected by the floods in their country.
India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2022: India is all set to lock horns against Pakistan in the 'clash of the Titans' in Asia Cup 2022 at Dubai International cricket stadium on Sunday. Ind vs Pak Asia Cup match will start at 7:30 pm IST. Meanwhile, Pakistan cricket team players will be seen wearing black armbands in their Asia Cup match against India to express solidarity with the people affected by the floods in their country, IANS reported.
The monsoon flooding in Pakistan has made life difficult for millions of people, creating unforgiving havoc. According to several media reports, more than 1 thousand people have lost their lives due to floods in Pakistan, and lakhs of people have become homeless in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Balochistan, and Sindh provinces.

Scores of people have died in landslides and other incidents due to rain and floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, making it the most affected area by the floods in Pakistan. Pakistan Minister Rana Sanaullah has informed that about 33 lakh people have been affected by the floods in the country and over 1000 people have died.
On eve of India-Pakistan Asia Cup match, captain Babar Azam, in the pre-match press conference, appealed to everyone to pray for the flood-affected people in Pakistan. He said it is a tough time "in our country and we all are praying for the affected people".
