Kapil Dev's Suggestion For Virat Kohli To Score Big Runs Ahead Of India's Tour Of England
For Virat Kohli to succeed in England, Kapil Dev suggested that the star player should not play too many risky shots early in conditions that would help bowlers by providing swing and seam.
Team India captain Virat Kohli is all set to tour England for the third time in his career. In India's tour of England, Indian cricket team will play the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) against New Zealand from June 18 and then a five-match Test series against England. Former India captain and veteran all-rounder Kapil Dev has given special advice to Virat Kohli before the tour of UK, that might help him to score big runs.
“I expect him to excel. Can you really shackle him? He is a natural when it comes to adapting but I would caution him to not be over-aggressive. He will have to measure it session by session. He’ll be better off waiting for his moments of dominance,” Kapil told Mid-Day in an interview.

For Virat Kohli to succeed in England, Kapil Dev suggested that the star player should not play too many risky shots early in conditions that would help bowlers by providing swing and seam.
“He will get his runs with a bit of patience. Trying too hard and too early doesn’t work in England where you need to watch the movement of the ball. If you play seam and swing well, show patience, you will succeed in England,” he added.
In the last three tours of England, Indian cricket team has suffered defeat in the Test series. India last won a Test series in England, in the year 2007. India had defeated England in their own backyard in 1986, under Kapil Dev's captaincy.
After making his debut in Test cricket, Virat Kohli has toured England twice. In his first tour of 2014, he was able to score 134 runs in 10 innings. Four years later, in the five Test matches series in 2018, he scored 593 runs with the help of two centuries and three half-centuries.
