Legendary pacer Jhulan Goswami will retire after the third ODI against England, officially ending a glorious two-decade international cricket career for Indian women's cricket team.

India-W vs England-W ODIs: Indian women's cricket teams' 39-year-old legendary pacer Jhulan Goswami joined her skipper Harmanpreet Kaur for the toss ceremony of the Lords' One-Day-International match (Ind vs Eng 3rd ODI) between India women's cricket team and England women's cricket team on Saturday. Goswami will retire after the third ODI against England, officially ending a glorious two-decade international cricket career for Indian women's cricket team. Jhulan captained India women's cricket team from 2008 to 2011. Notably, current India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur made her international debut against Pakistan in 2009, having Jhulan as her skipper during Women's ODI World Cup in Australia.

Speaking during a press conference ahead of India vs England 3rd ODI, Jhulan said that she might still play Women's Indian Premier League (WIPL) in 2023 while calling singing the national anthem as the best moments of her life.

"I haven't decided. So far the BCCI hasn't officially come out with an official announcement, let that come first then I will decide. Right now, I am retiring from international cricket," said Jhulan in the presser.

“Again I will say, singing that national anthem in the center wearing the India jersey... amazing feeling, those are the best moments in my life," she added.

Earlier, on the eve of her career's last international match, Jhulan revealed that not winning an ODI World Cup will be her "only regret" in an otherwise remarkable two decade cricketing career.

"I have played two World Cup finals but couldn't win the trophy. That remains my only regret because you prepare for World Cup for four years. There is a lot of hardwork. For every cricketer, it is a dream-come-true moment to win a World Cup," Goswami had said a day ahead of her final international match.
