David Warner To Miss Ind vs Aus Warm-Up Match? Aaron Finch Gives Major Update

David Warner suffered a neck injury in the second match of the recently concluded three-match ODI series between Australia and England after which he was ruled out of the third ODI, on October 14. 

India vs Australia warm-up match: Australia's star batter David Warner may be ruled out of the T20 World Cup warm-up match against India on Monday due to injury. However, captain Aaron Finch is confident that the left-handed batter will be fully fit before the World Cup kicks off. Finch said he is not worried about Warner's availability for Australia's warm-up match against New Zealand on October 22, but he is expected to miss match against India. David Warner suffered a neck injury in the second match of the recently concluded three-match ODI series between Australia and England after which he was ruled out of the third ODI, on October 14. 

"I think he (Warner) will definitely be right for New Zealand, but I am not sure about the warm-up game against India. He was OK the day after he hit his head and then the following day his neck got really sore and stiff," Finch was quoted as saying in a press conference in Melbourne.

"He probably should have been in a neck brace with the way he was carrying on about it the other day, so we will wait and see what he is like," he stated.

"If he is fit he will play, but if he is still a little bit sore we will err on the side of caution. When you have got experienced players who know what they need to do to be ready for a tournament you are not too concerned whether they play that game or not," Finch added.

Struggling with form, captain Aaron Finch said he is making some technical changes to his game ahead of the T20 World Cup. Finch, who recently relinquished Australia's ODI captaincy, could only manage 25 runs in three T20Is against England.

Finch said in the press conference, "T20 cricket has risks as well as rewards for an opener. You can give a good start to the team by playing aggressively but it is not always in line with strategy. I don't have any problem with it. After playing T20 cricket for a long time, it is known that ups and downs will come."
