BCCI Chief Roger Binny Responds To Allegation That 'ICC Favors India'

1983 World Cup winner Roger Binny gave a straightforward reply on whether India will tour to Pakistan for Asia Cup, next year.

New Delhi: Shahid Afridi and a bunch on other formers Pakistani cricketers, directly and indirectly, have accused ICC of taking decisions in favor of India. Newly appointed Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Roger Binny has finally reacted to these allegations, saying India is a big powerhouse in cricket but ICC treats everyone equally. Talking to reporters, the 1983 World Cup winner asserted that all teams are equal for ICC.

"Not fair. I don't think we're favoured by ICC. Everyone gets same treatment. No way in which you can say that. What do we get different from other teams? India is a big powerhouse in cricket but we're all treated the same," BCCI chief was quoted as saying by ANI.

Roger Binny also gave a straightforward reply on whether India will tour to Pakistan for Asia Cup, next year. He said that it is not in the hands of the BCCI and if the governments of both countries give permission for this, then a decision will be taken in this regard.

"That is not in BCCI's hands. That has to be done from the Government's side. They give the clearances: BCCI chief Roger Binny, in Chennai (Tamil Nadu) when asked if Indian Team will go to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup," Binny further said.

Roger Binny, a former India selector, was appointed as BCCI president, during the governing body's 91st Annual General Meeting in Mumbai. Binny replaced former India skipper Sourav Ganguly for the top job.
