Busan: In a thrilling finale, the Indian men's kabaddi team showcased their dominance by defeating Iran 42-32, successfully defending their title in the Asian Championships. This victory marks India's eighth triumph in the continental championships, solidifying their position as a kabaddi powerhouse.

The match commenced with Iran displaying an aggressive approach, posing a formidable challenge to the Indian team. However, the Indian players exhibited exceptional skill and resilience, rising to the occasion. Captain Pawan Sehrawat led the charge, contributing two crucial touch points that resulted in the first All-Out, granting India a commanding 10-4 lead.

Throughout the game, India continued to mount pressure on their Iranian counterparts, eventually securing another All-Out. With a comfortable 23-11 lead at halftime, the Indian team displayed their tactical prowess and maintained control over the proceedings.

Despite Iranian all-rounder Mohammadreza Chiyaneh's valiant efforts to inspire a comeback, his team faltered and succumbed to yet another All-Out, trailing 14-33. India, determined and composed, tightened their grip on the match, ultimately clinching the victory.

The Sports Authority of India took to Twitter to congratulate the Indian team on their outstanding performance. With a final score of 42-32 against Iran, Team India successfully retained the prestigious Asian Kabaddi Championship Title, showcasing their exceptional skills and teamwork. Notably, in the previous edition of the championship held in Iran in 2017, India emerged triumphant by defeating arch-rivals Pakistan in the final. This back-to-back victory against tough competitors underscores India's dominance in the sport and adds another glorious chapter to their kabaddi legacy.
