ICC Test Rankings: Kohli Drops Out Of Top 10 For 1st Time In 6 Years, Rishabh Pant Attains Career-Best Position

Ex-India skipper Virat Kohli has dropped out of the top 10 places in the ICC Test rankings for the first time in six years.

New Delhi: Team India lost by seven wickets against England in the fifth and final Test of the five-match Test series at Edgbaston on Tuesday. England completed their highest successful chase in Test cricket to stun the visitors, end series in a 2-2 draw. India vs England Test series started last year, but due to Covid outbreak in the Indian camp, final Test got postponed. A year later, the rescheduled fifth Test was played this month during India's tour of England. Virat Kohli's batting performance against England in the last Test was very disappointing.

Fans all over the world were eagerly waiting for Virat Kohli's century but the former India captain continued his poor form and could not score even a half-century. Out-of-form Virat scored 11 runs in 19 balls in India's first innings. In the second innings, he scored 20 runs in 40 balls. Thanks to a prolonged lean run, Kohli has dropped out of the top 10 in the ICC Test rankings for the first time in six years.

The RCB legend is currently ranked 13th in the Test rankings with a rating of 714. Two Indian batsmen are included in the top 10. Rishabh Pant, who scored 146 and 57 across two innings while batting remarkably well against England, jumped 5 places to move to the 5th position. Indian captain Rohit Sharma has slipped 1 place to 9th position. England's former skipper Joe Root has topped the list with 923 points.
