New Delhi: West Indies' star all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite made headlines for his heroics in the 2016 T20 World Cup that was played in India. In the 2016 final, West Indies defeated England by 4 wickets in Kolkata to win the sixth T20 World Cup. This was the second time that the West Indies won the T20 WC title.
Brathwaite, a rookie back then, stuned the entire cricket fraternity as he hit four back-to-back sixes to win the T20 WC final for West Indies. Windies required 19 runs off the final over.
The all-rounder earned 'Remember the name' moment by hammering England's Ben Stokes for 4 sixes in a row to complete the 156-run chase. Brathwaite shot to fame out of nowhere as he had played just 7 T20Is before the WC final.

Meanwhile, Brathwaite took to Instagram to reveal that he named his newborn daughter after Eden Gardens, the venue where West Indies had thumped mighty England to clinch the 2016 T20 World Cup title.

Brathwaite's success saw him being given the T20 captaincy of the West Indies cricket team but his captaincy stint was very short as under his captaincy, Windies lost 19 out of 30 games.
