Rafael Nadal beats Roger Federer in straight sets to reach record extending 12th French Open final

With his semifinal win over Federer, Nadal sailed into a record extending 12th final at the French Open. The Spaniard extended his winning streak over the Swiss Maestro, making it six wins on the trot on the red clay at Paris.

New Delhi: Rafael Nadal extended his dominance over arch rival Roger Federer on the red clay of Roland Garros by defeating him in the men's singles semifinals of the 2019 French Open on Friday. Nadal was in all conquering form against his Swiss opponent, defeating him in three straight sets with the scorline reading 6-3 6-4 6-2 . With his semifinal win over Federer, Nadal sailed into a record extending 12th final at the French Open. The Spaniard extended his winning streak over the 'Swiss Maestro', making it six wins on the trot on the red clay at Paris. Nadal who has already won the French Open a staggering 11 times would look to add another title to his kitty and make it twelve titles at his favourite grand slam. Meanwhile, it was a successful return for 20-time major winner Roger Federer at the French Open after he skipped the past three editions of the grand slam. Nadal who beat Dominic Theim in last year's men's singles final came into the tournament as the defending champion. Nadal will play the winner of the second semifinals between Novak Djokovic and Dominic Thiem in the title clash on Sunday.
