The Asian Games bronze-winner is the second boxer to test positive for the fast-spreading infection after legendary Dinko Singh. Dinko had recovered from the virus after a month long hospitalization.

It’s been a rocky road for SAI trying to get training and practice of Olympic contenders back on track amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

The first six players in the men’s hockey national camp, including captain Manpreet Singh, tested positive for Covid-19, then Shuttler N Sikki Reddy and physiotherapist Kiran C tested positive, however, they have recovered now and hockey and badminton camps will start from 19th and 17th August respectively.
