Saudi Businessman Pays $2.6m To See Cristiano Ronaldo-Lionel Messi Match: Report
This will be the first time Ronaldo and Messi will lock horns against against each other since December 2020.
The stage is set for Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi face off. Even though Ronaldo might have already played his last game in the European leagues, having signed a sensational contract with Saudi Arabia club Al Nassr which made him the world's highest paid footballer, Ronaldo vs Messi will still be a reality. It is happening as the Ligue 1 giants are coming to Saudi for a friendly game while Ronaldo is all set to make his debut in the Asian Country, having been announced the captain of the Saudi All-Star XI.
And now a recent report suggests that a Saudi Businessman has just bought football's most expensive ticket to see Ronaldo and Messi lock horns. As per a report carried by The Sun, a VIP ticket was auctioned off and while the bidding war started at £220,000,
Musharraf bin Ahmed Al-Ghamdi sealed the deal with a winning bid of £2.2m.
Saudi Businessman will get to meet Messi, Ronaldo & Others
Having paid the whopping sum of money, the Saudi businessman will get an opportunity to meet Ronaldo, Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar among other stars. The VIP ticket which fetched the record-breaking amount is part of a fundraising campaign by Turki Al-Sheikh, the head of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority. The proceeds of this will be donated to the Saudi Arabia’s Ehsan charity fund.
Meanwhile, the much-awaited fixture is scheduled to take place on January 19, 2023. Ronaldo will wear the captain's armband in a team which has players from his club Al Nassr along with other clubs which participate in the Saudi Pro League like Al Hilal. In addition, Salem Al-Dawsari, who made headlines after scoring in Saudi Arabia's sensational win over eventual World Champions Argentina in a group stage match will also play for Riyadh ST XI.
