FA Cup 2023-24 Round 4: The FA Cup 2023-24 Round 4 produced yet another magical moment and a great underdog story as Non-League club Maidstone United, who currently plays in the sixth their of the English Football heirarchy, stunned Premier League-bound Ipswich Town (as they currently sit second in the Championship and are looking firm enough to gain promition to the richest league in the world in 2024-25 season) 2-1 at their home ground, Portman Road.

The winner came via Sam Corne and the history makers Maidstone United went wild in theur celebrations away at Ipswich Town and after the match, the Englishman had a message for all the fans of the club.

Ipswich Town Vs Maindstone United FA Cup 2023-24 Round 4: Match Report 

Ipswich Town came into this fixture being on an unbeaten run for more than a month as their last defeat came at the hands of Leeds United on December 23, when the club lost 4-0 away at Leeds in their Championship fixture.

On the other hand, Maidstone United came into the fixture on a mixed run as they were winless in ther last three fixtures and odds were hevaily against them and football fans expected an easy win for Ipswich.

However, the club from the sixth tier decided to go against the script and write their own fate as they managed to take a shocking lead via Lamar Reynolds minutes before half-time. But Ipswich pulled one back in the 56th minute before the iconic moment came when the initial goalscorer Reynolds robbed off the ball from midfield to lay in a diagonal pass for Sam Corne and he finished it past the keeper as the away stand went berserk.

Lucas Cavagnari produced one of the most heroic performances of all time between the stick for Maidstone United as he made a record 12 saves and was awaerded the man of the match award.
