FC Barcelona Beat Red Star Belgrade: FC Barcelona continue their red-hot form across all competitions, as they inflict a 5-2 hammering on Red Star Belgrade in their UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Round 4 fixture.

Hansi Flick's men showed no mercy to the hosts at the Stadion Rajko Mitic, and with the win, the Blaugrana touch the 15-goal mark for this season's UEFA Champions League.

The home side were off to a dismal start, as Inigo Martinez opened the scoring for visitors with an excellent diving header, as Raphinha did exceptionally well to cross-in towards the far post to meet the defender.

The lead lasted merely 14 minutes as Red Star Belgrade equalised via Silas Katompa Mvumpa but fell back again minutes before half-time, as Robert Lewandowski grabbed FC Barcelona’s second goal of the night.

The second-half opened the floodgates for goals, as the period recorded 4 goals. Robert Lewandowski secured his brace with his goal in the 53rd minute, followed by goals from Raphinha and Fermin Lopez as FC Barcelona once again scored 5 goals in a single match this season.

A consolation goal from Milson did not do much for the home side, as the visitors, inspired by Jules Kounde’s hat-trick of assists, walked out comfortable winners in Belgrade.

Hansi Flick Comments On FC Barcelona's Demolition Of Red Star Belgrade

The head coach was extremely delighted with this side's dominant win and said that they ‘were at 100% for 90 minutes’.

"I value what we have done and everything that we are doing. We're playing very well with the ball, but we're also creating pressure and defending very well. It wasn't easy because Red Star know how to play, and how to defend. We had a great game," said Hansi Flick.

"What mattered was winning, and especially here because it's not easy to win away in Europe. So I'm very happy ... I hope we can keep this rhythm up for the whole season and stay confident. It won't be easy, but we are working hard and after the international break I hope things stay like that. The team is doing very well, they're fabulous, and we need to keep competing like that," he added.
