Antoine Griezmann Retires: One of France's iconic football stars has stunned the world with his decision to quit international football.
Antonine Grizemann, FIFA World Cup winner with France, announced his retirement from international football on Monday (September 30). One of the country's most iconic stars took to social media to confirm his decision. Grizemann, 33, has opted to hang up his boots after a seven-year career.
"It is with a heart full of memories that I close this chapter of my life. Thank you for this magnificent tricolor adventure and see you soon," Griezmann's captioned the video he shared on X.

Griezmann's Career In Numbers
Notably, the French forward donned the Les Blues colours a total of 137 matches, finding the back of the net on 44 occasions. Other than the goals that he scored, Griezmann was often a crucial playmaker and was involved not only in the attack but even in defense.
Griezmann played a significant role in taking France to a FIFA World Cup win in 2018 in Russia. He was also part of the 2021 UEFA Nations League-winning French side that beat Spain 2-1 in the titular contest.

Griezmann represented France in the U-19, U-20 and U-21 levels. He went to make his senior team debut in 2014 in 2014 against Netherlands, in a match in which he played for 68 minutes. Soon after making his debut for the national team, Griezmann soon became an integral part of coach Didier Deschamps' plans, winning the French Player of the Year recognition in 2016 before going on to be the FIFA World Cup Silver Boot winner in 2018.
