Schedule, Official Slogan and Host Cities Unveiled For FIFA U-17 Women's WC

"India is a country of unlimited opportunity and potential. Football is a sport where we shouldn't lag far behind and the entire country should come ahead and support this event of under 17 FIFA Women's World Cup" said the Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju.

New Delhi: FIFA and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) on Tuesday unveiled the match schedule, host cities and Official Slogan for the showpiece event to be held in India later this year. Guwahati will host the opening match of the FIFA Under 17 Women's World Cup football. The event will start on the 2nd November and FIFA's official slogan for the tournament is "Kick off the dream". 
32 matches will be played across 5 venues and there will be double headers in the group stages. The five host cities are  Guwahati , Bhubaneswar , Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Navi Mumbai. 16 participating teams will be divided into 4 groups and the final match will be played in Navi Mumbai .
Sarai Bareman, the former Kiwi international footballer and the Chief women's football officer, FIFA said , "I was here in Mumbai last year marking the 365 day countdown . It's pleasure to be back in Delhi. India will create history come November and it is going to be a massive step to organise this tournament."

We had continuous discussion since last few months and I was eagerly waiting for this moment . Thanks to FIFA for allowing us an extra venue to host matches. Through football we can empower the women of our country ", said the Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju.
AIFF President Praful Patel was ecstatic on the recent performance of the Indian under 17 women's team . India drew Romania 3-3 in Istanbul a couple of days back ina friendly match .
Praful Patel said , "We have successfully demonstrated in 2017 that we can host an international football tournament like the Youth World Cup successfully. FIFA is committed to support India and I am grateful for that . There were just four venues initially and they helped us to add one more venue so that we can promote football in more places . I can assure that India will make this event a grand success".
The final match of the 19 day long event will be played on the 21st November .
