The Brazil women's football team has so far participated in a total eight edition of FIFA World Cup.

Brazil on Monday announced they decided to pay their women's and men's football teams equally when on international duty, since March 2020. The announcement by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) comes after the pay disparity between Men's and Women's team attracted attention as the United States, who are also the current women's World Champion, filed a lawsuit against their federation (US Soccer Federation) in March 2019 alleging discrimination over pay and conditions.

CBF chief Rogerio Caboclo said: "There is no more gender difference, the CBF is treating men and women equally. It will be proportionally the same as what Fifa proposes for women, that is to say, there will be no more gender difference in remuneration between men and women."

The Brazil women's football team -- one of the most successful team's in South America -- has so far participated in a total eight edition of FIFA World Cup. In the year 2007, they ended as the runner-up in World Cup and also managed to qualify for the Olympic finals in 2004 and 2008. However, in the 2019 edition of the World Cup they were knocked out in the Round of 16.
