The dramatic collapse took place when the Dera Ismail Khan came out to bat after fielding for two and a half days but could manage to put on only 57 runs on scoreboard across both their innings
New Delhi: Pakistan’s first-class competition, Ayub Trophy, on 4th December 1964, witnessed the end of the most one-sided match ever in the history. The match between Pakistan Railways team and Dera Ismail Khan started on December 2nd and came to and end on the 3rd day with home team winning the game by a historic record making margin of innings and 851 runs at Lahore’s Railways Moghalpura Institute Ground.

After electing to bat first, the Railways side piled up a huge total of 415/2 to finish day one against Dera Ismail Khan, with Opener Ijaz Hussain (124) sharing a 244-run 2nd wicket partnership with Javed Babar. On Day 2, Javed got dismissed after scoring 200 as the Dera Ismail side managed to pick only four more wickets on the 2nd day but batsman Pervez Akhtar ensured his side scored 410 runs in the day.
Pervez struck an unbeaten 337 and attained a partnership of 248 for the 7th wicket along with Mohammad Sharif to take their total to 910/6 before they declared.
