Yuvraj Singh named in Punjab squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy
Yuvraj will represent his state under newly appointed skipper Mandeep Singh who replaced Harbhajan Singh for this season
Veteran Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh is all set to return to the cricket field almost after a year as he has been named in Punjab’s 16-member squad for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy starting from September 19. The 36-year-old left-arm all-rounder will represent his state under newly appointed skipper Mandeep Singh who replaced Harbhajan Singh for this season.
Batsman Gurkeerat Singh Mann has been appointed as Mandeep’s deputy for the tournament. The 16-members squad also India U-19 cricketers World Cup winners including Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma and Arshdeep Singh. Gill and Sharma have already played senior-level cricket while Arshdeep is yet to make his debut.
Pace bowler Siddarth Kaul, who is currently with the Indian squad in the UAE, will join the side as a leading speedster and will be assisted by Manpreet Singh Goni and Barinder Sran. Sandeep Sharma has not been included in the side.

Out from the national side for more than a year now, Yuvraj has a fair chance to prove his mettle in order to help himself in making eligible to play the World Cup 2019. He last represented India in July 2017 in the tour of West Indies.
