Samoa Batter Breaks Yuvraj Singh's World Record For Most T20I Runs In An Over | WATCH VIDEO
Samoa batter Darius Visser broke the world record for the most runs scored in a single over in T20Is which was set in 2007.
Yuvraj Singh long held the record for scoring most T20I runs in an over. The stylish left-handed India batter smashed 6 sixes in an over against England in the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup to accumulate 36 runs in an over. He may have been joined by batters for that record but Yuvraj was always there on that list since 2007.
However, it is now a past record as Samoa batter has shattered Yuvraj's long-standing feat in a T20 World Cup 2026 qualifiers. Darius Visser etched history by smashing 39 runs in an over. The previous record was held by Yuvraj along with Kieron Pollard and Dipendra Singh Airee. Darius Visser achieved the feat while playing against Vanuatu at the Garden Oval No.2 in Apia.

Nalin Nipiko Bowled A Dot-Ball In The 39-Run Over
In the 15th over of the batting innings, Darius Visser much like Yuvraj and Pollard, smashed six sixes in an over but was helped by three no-balls which meant that the team could get 39 runs off the over with only one batter on the crease. Samoa were 77/5 before the start of the over by Nalin Nipiko but Visser's heroics with the bat in the 15th over meant by the time the over ended, they had posted 116/5.

Nipiko did bowl a dot ball, which was the fifth ball of the over, but could not maintain tha good job and followed it up with two no-balls, the second of which was smashed for a six by the batter. Visser eventually went on to score the first T20I ton by a Samoa batter, finishing with 132 off 62 balls, a knock that was studded with 5 fours and 14 sixes.
