'West Needs To Acknowledge Spirit Of Subcontinent': Ramiz Raja's Sarcastic Remark On England Covid-19 Breach

"South Africa had one player with symptoms of covid in Dec and England chose to leave quoting mental challenges. West needs to acknowledge the spirit of sub continent," Ramiz Raja said in his tweet.

Karachi: Pakistan's former captain, Ramiz Raja has made a remark on the English cricket team and asked the Western countries to learn a thing or two about the 'Spirit' of cricket from the subcontinent.

Actually, Raja was talking in context with the recent incident about seven English team members getting affected by Covid-19. A similar incident had happened in South Africa when the English team had cancelled the tour citing mental health reasons. The former Pakistani batsman made a comparison between both situations to explain how England "needs to acknowledge the spirit of subcontinent".

Let's see what Ramiz Raja exactly tweeted:

"England team suffer at the hands of COVID yet Pakistan team stays. South Africa had one player with symptoms of covid in Dec and England chose to leave quoting mental challenges. West needs to acknowledge the spirit of sub continent and commitment to the game… nahin??"

While calling-off the South Africa tour, ECB chief executive Tom Harrison said: "We have always maintained that the welfare of our players and management is paramount. We were concerned about the potential impact that recent developments might have on the wellbeing of the touring party, and so after consultation with Cricket South Africa, we have jointly made the decision to postpone the remaining matches in this series, in the best interest of the players' welfare."

After three players and four management team members from England's ODI squad contracted Coronavirus, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced a completely new team to play ODI and T20I series against Pakistan from July 8. Ben Stokes will be the captain of this new squad.
