WC 2019: "Lightning quick" Dhoni becomes India's most successful glovesman in WC
MS Dhoni surpassed former India wicket-keeper Kiran Shankar More to stump the most number of batsmen in ICC World Cup
India speedster Mohammed Shami took a hat-trick as India defeat Afghanistan by 11 runs to register their fourth win in the World Cup.
Meanwhile, MS Dhoni surpassed former India wicket-keeper Kiran Shankar More to stump the most number of batsmen in ICC World Cup. Dhoni also joined Australia's Adam Gilchrist and Pakistan's Moin Khan, second on the list for most stumpings in Cricket World Cup history. The former skipper is the most succesful wicket keeper for India at the World Cups with 35 dismissals.
Dhoni is the third most successful keeper in ODIs with 437 dismissals behind the stumps. He also hold the world record for the most stumpings (122) in one day internationals.
Earlier, Afghanistan tweakers spun a web around Indian batsmen to restrict them to 224/8 in 50 overs despite half centuries from skipper Virat Kohli and Kedar Jadhav in a World Cup clash on Saturday.
Veteran MS Dhoni, today, was stumped in ODIs for the first time in 8 years and only the second time in his career. Both instances took place in World Cup - off Rashid today and Bishoo in 2011.
Fans on Twitter lashed out on MS Dhoni for his terrible batting performance. Dhoni's inability to rotate strike during middle overs and even defending the fuller deliveries got the fans furious on Twitter.
