WATCH: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma And Other Indian Players Meet Sir Garfield Sobers Ahead Of IND vs WI Test Series

Ahead of the Test series opener, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill among other cricketers of the Indian cricket team met Sir Garfield Sobers.

The Indian Team got to interact with the ultimate legend of the game, Sir Garfield Sobers in Barbados, the hosting venue of the upcoming first test-match against West Indies starting on July 12. The team would be hoping to bounce back after a rare month-long break after they lost to Australia in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final last month. This will also mark India's onset of the 2023-25 cycle of the WTC.

Ahead of the series opener, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill among other cricketers of the Indian cricket team met Sir Garfield Sobers. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to the social media to share a video of the Indian Players coming up, shaking hands and having a conversation with the legendary cricketer. The meeting coincidentally happened right next to the Garfield Sobers Pavilion at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

Here is the tweet:

As India’s star batsmen Virat Kohli is getting ready for the start of next ICC World Test Championship cycle in the Caribbean, he’ll be eyeing few records on the tour that includes breaking into the top five of the most run-getters list in the history of International Cricket.

Meanwhile, former India skipper and the Head coach of the Indian team Rahul Dravid was seen introducing the young players of the squad.

"This is Shubman Gill. One of our most young and exciting batsmen” said Rahul Dravid. Sobers can also be seen enjoying a light moment with Virat Kohli.

Notably, Sobers is widely known as one of the finest all-rounders to have played the game till now. He played 93 Tests for West Indies between 1954 to 1974 scoring 8032 runs with an outstanding average of 57.78. He has 26 centuries and 30 half centuries with the personal best and truly exceptional score of 365 not out. In addition, he scalped 235 wickets in his Test career.

Talking about the Men in Blue, they are all gearing up for the upcoming series with a couple of Test matches set to be followed by three ODIs and five T20Is.
