Watch: Rishabh Pant's perfect revenge from Tim Paine - calls him 'Temporary Captain'
It was surely a befitting payback from the young Indian wicketkeeper to what he received the previous day. But later, Pant got a warning from the on-field umpire Ian Gould, who was listening to it from the square leg area.
On Friday, Australian captain Tim Paine sledged Indian stumper Rishabh Pant by asking him if he could babysit or would like to play the Big Bash League since he is out from the upcoming ODI series. Pant didn’t say a word then as he was concentrating to stabilise the Indian innings which was jolted by Pat Cumins.
However, on Saturday, he found an opportunity to pay it back to the Aussie skipper and his banter was no less than sweet poison.
The hosts were reduced to 135 for 5 when Paine came in to bat. Since Jadeja was on the attack, Pant was standing close to the stumps and whatever he uttered was clearly audible through the stump microphones.
“We have a special guest. Have you ever heard of a temporary captain, Mayank?”
“Have you heard? No? I’m seeing it!”
“You don't anything to get him out, boy”
“Only thing Paine can do is talking, talking,” said Pant.
