WATCH: Kohli lashes out at journalist after losing Test series 1-4
The 'best in 15 years' statement from Ravi Shastri has created a scene again!
The 4-1 defeat to England in the Test series has jolted India deeply. Apart from accepting that the hosts played much better than them, Indian skipper Virat Kohli kept on speaking about the ‘character’ shown by his teammates throughout out the series. But when it came to justifying head coach Ravi Shastri’s controversial statement, Kohli seemed to have lost his temper.
During the post-match presser, a journalist went to ask a question based on head coach Shastri's comments from a week ago where he claimed that he hasn’t witnessed any better Indian team in the last 15-20 years that the current one. To the question, Kohli replied, “We have to believe we are the best side. Why not?"
Probably this answer didn’t satisfy the reporter. Hence, he went on to cross-question, asking, “The best team in 15 years?" It irked the Indian skipper who replied, “What do you think?" The reporter said, “I am not sure.”
The Indian captain ended the conversation by saying, “That’s your opinion. Thank you.”

Further, Kohli said that “All I can say is that no Indian team has won in Sri Lanka for a long time. But we have won in the West Indies, in England, Test matches in Australia and South Africa.”
India under Virat Kohli suffered a new low with the Oval Test loss as this is the first time since their 0-4 defeat against Australia in 1991-92. Kohli ended up as the highest run scorer by a comfortable margin. In 5 Test, he scored 593 runs at an average of 59.30 including two centuries.
