Wasim Jaffer Becomes First Cricketer To Play 150 Ranji Trophy Games

When Jaffer took to the field to play against Andhra Pradesh at the  Devineni Venkata Ramana Praneetha Ground in Vijayawada, he became the first cricketer to play 150 Ranji Games

Wasim Jaffer, who has been one of India's most accomplished first class cricketer added another feather to his cap when he took to the field to represent Vidharbha in a Ranji Trophy game against Andhra Pradesh. When Jaffer took to the field to play against Andhra Pradesh at the  Devineni Venkata Ramana Praneetha Ground in Vijayawada, he became the first cricketer to play 150 Ranji Games in a highly glittering career that has spanned over to decades. The seasoned first class campaigner is followed by Devendra Bundela with 145 appearances between 1995 to 2018 and Amol Muzumdar with 136 appearances between 1993 and 2014. Jaffer is one of the most successful batsman in India's first class cricket also represented India in 31 Tests and 2 ODIs. The Mumbai-born batsman has played 253 first-class matches, scoring a whooping 19,147 runs, at an astounding average of 51.19. With 40 first class tons, Jaffer is the leading century maker in first class cricket in India. Former Delhi cricketer Ajay Sharma (31) and Amol Muzumdar (28) are second and third on the list, respectively.
