Virat Kohli Shares Picture Of Himself Reading Newspaper In Metro Before West Indies Tour

Virat Kohli is currently enjoying some time off before India's tour of West Indies beginning in July.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced India squads for the Test and the ODI series against West Indies beginning in July. While currently the Indian players are enjoying a bit of a break after the team's defeat in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia at the Oval earlier this month, the team's next tour will be long one.

Senior members of the side- the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma- are all utilising the time off to spend some time with their families and enjoy the little things that they don't get the opportunity to when they are in India or in the middle of cricket tours. And in a recent Instagram activity, Kohli has shared a picture of himself reading newspaper in a metro. “In the tube,” Kohli has captioned the picture which has now gone viral on social media.

While Kohli did end his century drought in the game's longest format in the home series against Australia, he failed to deliver in the summit clash against the same opposition. His record in the last few years hasn't been as good as one has come to expect from him over the years and once again all eyes will be on the former captain when he takes the field especially in Test matches.

India's Test batting mainstay Cheteshwar Pujara has been dropped for the tour of West Indies after his failure in the WTC final. Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane, who was dropped from the team and regained his place in the side for the titular contest in the United Kingdom, has been made the vice-captain of the Test squad after a few series in which no deputy was announced to Rohit.

In the ODI scheme of things, Hardik Pandya has been named the vice-captain with KL Rahul continuing to recover from an injury.

The first India vs West Indies Test match is all set to commence on July 12 at the Windsor Park, Dominica.
