Vinod Kambli and wife get into brawl with singer Ankit Tiwari's father

Kambli's wife Andrea claimed that the man touched her ‘inappropriately’ in a Mumbai mall.

FIR registered against former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli and wife Andrea for beating up an old man. The incident took place in Inorbit Mall, Malad, where Andrea claimed that the man touched her ‘inappropriately’ when he brushed his hand against her in an otherwise packed mall on Sunday.

What seems like a clear case of misunderstanding which was blown out proportion, Kambli claims that an old man inappropriately touched his wife. They were at the Game Zone in the mall around 3 pm when Andrea caught hold of the old man’s hand.

He had deliberately brushed his hand against her and when she caught him in the act, he pushed her away. After some time, when they were at the food court, two men, who they assumed were the man’s sons, tried to attack his wife. When he told them to back off, they told him, ‘You don’t know who we are’.

Asper reports, the 59-year-old man is Bollywood singer Ankit Tiwari’s father, R.K. Tiwari, who was in the mall with his other son Ankur Tiwari and his children. According to Ankur Tiwari, his father was in the gaming zone where he spotted Kambli. However, he was walking past a woman and blacked out. He is a retired bank employee and could not believe what he was being accused of.

Later, when he went to talk to the Kamblis, they started abusing him and became violent. The Tiwaris have lodged a complaint at the Bangur Nagar Police Station. They have been charged under Section 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and Section 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code.

The police are still investigating and have not made any arrests yet.
