Batting first, India posted a challenging total of 171/7, with major contributions from skipper Rohit Sharma (57) and Suryakumar Yadav (47).

Chasing the target, England collapsed for 103 runs. Indian spinners rattled the English batters, with Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav each taking 3 wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah chipped in with 2 wickets.

Under Rohit Sharma's captaincy, India has reached the T20 World Cup final after a decade-long wait.

Leading the national team admirably, Rohit Sharma added another batting milestone to his name. The seasoned opener joined the elite club of legendary Indian captains like Virat Kohli and two-time World Cup winner MS Dhoni.

Rohit Sharma's impressive knock of 57 runs in IND vs ENG T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final helped him become the fifth Indian captain to achieve the milestone of scoring 5000 runs.

The stage is set for a thrilling T20 World Cup 2024 final showdown between South Africa and India on Saturday (June 29).

For Rohit Sharma, this is his final opportunity to lift a World Cup trophy in his illustrious career and he is now a step closer to clinching the ICC silverware. It has been 13 years since India last won a World Cup.

After crushing England, Rohit Sharma vowed that the team would give their best to put on a strong performance in the T20 World Cup 2024 finals against South Africa.

"We'll try our best, team is in good shape. All I can hope is to put up a good show come the finals," said Rohit Sharma.
