Wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson dealt with a major blow after he failed to clear the Yo-Yo and will miss India A’s tour of England which is scheduled to start at the end of this month.

The Kerala born batsman has fallen way beyond the standard 16.1 mark set by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and did not board the flight with Shreyas Iyer’s men.

Samson was in a fine form in the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League, scoring 441 runs in 14 matches at an average of 31.50.

According to sources, the 23-year-old appeared for the test 3 days ago at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru along other members of the India A team who were selected for the one-day tri series which also includes West Indies.

It is learnt that Samson did not train and had picked up niggles, resulting in low Yo-Yo score.
