“We Are In It Together…Unity Is Our Strength”: Afridi Visits Hindu Temple To Supply Food Amid COVID-19 Crisis

'Boom Boom' who has been at the forefront of helping out the poor and needy sections of the society in Pakistan was once again seen championing the cause of helping out people as he visited a Hindu temple to deliver food supply amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

New Delhi: Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has earned a lot of respect and admiration from both his fellow countrymen and Indians too for his humanitarian relief work during the COVID-19 pandemic. 'Boom Boom' who has been at the forefront of helping out the poor and needy sections of the society in Pakistan was once again seen championing the cause of helping out people as he visited a Hindu temple to deliver food supply amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Karachi Pathan was joined by legendary Pakistani Squash player Jahangir Khan, who is best known to have annexed the World Open six times and won the British Open on 10 occasions. Afridi’s noble gesture won him plenty of applause from all quarters of the society worldwide on Twitter. Sweden-based political analyst Ashok Swain wrote, “If an Indian Hindu Cricket Star would have visited a Mosque in Delhi to deliver food in #coronavirus lockdown, Hindutva Gang would have lost its mind (if it had one)!” Activist Rahul Easwar tweeted, “#Respect to @SAfridiOfficial For helping out #Hindu temple in #Pakistan.” While sharing the photos of his relief work, Afridi wrote, “We are in it together and we shall prevail together. Unity is our strength. Visited Sri Lakshmi Narain mandir along with @JK555squash President @SAFoundationN to deliver essential food items. Ensuring #HopeNotOut. What really is of noteworthy significance is that Afridi has used the money donated by Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh towards his foundation for carrying out relief and measures amid the pandemic. Back in April, Yuvraj had donated to Afridi’s foundation and also appealea to his fans to come forward for the same. Even Harbhajan Singh supported Afridi's cause in helping out the people affected by the pandemic situation across religious lines in Pakistan
