Ruturaj Gaikwad Experiences Wrist Pain, Rushes To National Cricket Academy

Earlier, India's middle order batter Shreyas Iyer also was ruled out from the ODI series against New Zealand as he sustained a back injury.

The Indian batter Ruturaj Gaikwad experienced pain in his right wrist after scoring 8 and 0 in the Ranji Trophy game against Hyderabad. The 25-year-old is at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Gaikwad got a place in India's squad for the three-match T20I series to be played against New Zealand. The first game will be played at the JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi on Friday.

Post the game, Gaikwad told the medical team of the Board of Control for Cricket in India about the pain in his right wrist that he got while batting. Earlier, he was ruled out from the T20I series against Sri Lanka in July due to a wrist injury. Ruturaj had a terrific Vijay Hazare Trophy where he smashed four centuries in five games.
