Rohit Sharma Fumes, Gives Earful To Shardul Thakur After His Sloppy Fielding - WATCH

The Indian skipper yelled at him after his sloppy work resulted in giving way Windies’ skipper Shai hope that extra run during Kuldeep Yadav's first over.

Indian spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja turned the game in the favor of their team during the series opener contest at Barbados but then skipper Rohit Sharma had a tough time on the field. The incident transpired when all-rounder Shardul Thakur was spotted fielding in a casual manner at mid-off in the 19th over of the West Indies innings and as a result, Rohit Sharma was fuming with anger.

The Indian skipper yelled at him after his sloppy work resulted in giving way Windies’ skipper Shai hope that extra run during Kuldeep Yadav's first over. Earlier also, skipper Rohit gave Shardul an earful after his below-average fielding during the encounter at the Kensington Oval. A video of the same incident went viral and grabbed a lot of attention from netizens on social media.

After dominating the red ball series 1-0, the Indian side continued their winning run over the Caribbean side in the ODIs as well, registering a facile 5-wicket win over the hosts on a spin-friendly pitch. Ravindra Jadeja grabbed 3 wickets and scored a handy 16-run  to continue his all-round show while Kuldeep Yadav was wrecker-in-chief after picking up four wickets, winning the  Man of the Match award as well.

Spinners Kuldeep and Jadeja also reached a huge feat in the first ODI of the three-match series. The spin pair of Kuldeep and Jadeja became the first ever Indian left-arm spinners duo to pick seven wickets or more in an ODI game.

After the five-wicket victory over the hosts, Rohit and his men have taken a 1-0 lead over the West Indies in the three-match series.

"I never thought the pitch would play like that, it was the team's need to bowl first and have a score. The pitch had everything for the seamers and spinners, our guys did well to restrict them to that score. We wanted to give game time to the ODI guys who have come in, we will keep trying those things whenever possible." Rohit said after the match.
