Punam Raut to lead India A against Australia A in home series

The team consists of a few members from the senior team including Sushma Verma, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Kavita Patil and Shikha Pandey

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 15-member India A women’s squad for the upcoming 3-match ODI home series against Australia A. Indian opener Punam Raut has been handed given the responsibility to lead the side in the series.

The One Day International games will be played at the BCCI’s Bandra-Kurla Complex stadium on October 15, 17 and 19. The ODI series will be followed by a T20 series and the squad for it will be named later, according to a media release.

Here’s the complete squad:

Punam Raut (captain), Priya Punia, Devika Vaidya, Mona Meshram, Tanushree Sarkar, Sushma Verma (wicket-keeper), Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Sushree Dibyadarshani, C Prathyusha, Reemalaxmi Ekka, Shikha Pandey, Nethra L, Hemali Borwankar, Kavita Patil, Preeti Bose.

Raut was a part of the women's team which played Sri Lanka in their backyard last month. On the other hand, Sushma last played an ODI in April. The team consists of a few members from the senior team including Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Sushma Verma, Kavita Patil and Shikha Pandey.
