"Well you know when I went to the crease, Khushdil told me that we can win the game from here. All thanks to God and I am very happy. Yeah, you know, obviously we required to keep our focus on the ground. It is still a long way to go and we will be focused for the next game. Still a long way to go in the tournament. Iftikhar and Khushdil batted really well and added up a crucial partnership. Long way to go for us so hope for the best," said Nurul Hasan, Rangpur Riders Captain, who was awarded the 'Player of the Match'.
Rangpur Riders' Run-Chase In A Nutshell
Chasing a target of 198 was pretty tough on this surface, and things turned from bad to worse for them, as they lost star player Alex Hales in the 2nd over.
Poor bowling in the death overs granted Fortune Barishal to cross the 190-run mark, and with the side reeling at 66/3, there were not much expectations from the pair of Khushdil Shah and Iftikhar Ahmed, as scoring at a rapid pace was ahefty task for them.
The veteran duo defied the odds and went out all guns blazing, notching up a 91-run partnership off 53 balls, and that gave a platform for skipper Nurul Hasan to captalise upon, which he did handsomely, by producing one of the most iconic chases in the history of the league.
