Will MS Dhoni play IPL 2025 for CSK as a player?

When the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were eliminated from IPL 2024 after losing to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on May 18, many thought this was MS Dhoni's last match. However, the former CSK skipper has not made any retirement announcement.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO Kasi Vishwanathan is hopeful that Mahendra Singh Dhoni will return to play for CSK in IPL 2025.

Dhoni scored 161 runs in 73 balls he faced in IPL 2024 and also took many excellent catches behind the wickets. With the mega auction of IPL set to be held at the end of year 2024, there is no doubt that if Dhoni remains fit, CSK will retain him for IPL 2025 season.

During an interaction on YouTube, Vishwanathan said, "We have full hope that he will be available for CSK next year. These are the thoughts and expectations of the fans and me."
