Lucknow Super Giants are true owners of the phrase "Being Slept Upon", as their silent progress and terrific form is going unnoticed. Ever since Gautam Gambhir left as the mentor of the franchise, several experts, and former cricketers, and even fans didn't rate the side in their Top 4 for Indian Premier League 2024 playoffs. But, the KL Rahul-led side have shrugged aside the critics and have performed extremely well in the tournament so far, with 3 wins and a solitary defeat in their 4 matches. Now for those who might think that LSG may have scraped past their opponents, it is not the case, as the side have won their matches convincingly and comprehensively.

Analysis Of IPL 2024 Season For Lucknow Super Giants So Far
In their opening match, Super Giants came up against the best side of the IPL 2024 so far, the Rajasthan Royals and fell short of the run chase by 20 runs. Given the condition of the pitch and the length of the boundaries, it was a surmounting task for any side to chase down 190+ total at Sawai Mansingh stadium but LSG batters did extremely well after the early setback given to them by the sensational pace duo of Nandre Burger and Trent Boult.
In their second match, the Super Giants gave the Punjab Kings a target of 200 but it seemed like an easy ask for the latter, as they were 98/0 at halfway stage. But then came the biggest suprise player of IPL 2024 so far, an unknown pacer from Delhi, a 21-year old Mayank Yadav. However, the moment the young pacer bowled his first ball, he garbbed eyeballs around the stadium and of those who were viewing the match.
In their last two matches, the side have successfully defended a total of less than 190 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Giants, with the latter failing to reach the target of 164 and losing the match by 33 runs. The margin of victory even in a small target of 164 against the runners up of IPL 2023 speaks volumes about the quality of bowling LSG have on their hands.
Mayank Yadav has now become the find of the season for LSG as the pacer has recorded 6 wickets in his 3 matchs so far. The tally could've easily been extended but thr right-arm fast bowler picked up a side strain in his first over against Gujarat Titans and was later taken off the field.
KL Rahul, Nicolas Pooran have been the ever-reliable run scorers for the franchise, and the emergence of Mohsin Khan, Krunal Pandya, and now Mayank Yadav, makes the side a 'Complete XI'.
