In the footage citing aKashmiri politician's statement, the Reporter asked, 'Should Ladakh go with Kashmir instead ofremaining a UT?' On this, Sonam Wangchuk said, 'You must have heard that there arereferendums, so if everyone thinks so, then why not in Kashmir? That is, if the people of Ladakhagree, Ladakh may go with Kashmir.'Taking the investigation forward, PTI contacted Wangchuk to get his view on the viral video.Wagchuk told PTI that It is sad when statements are distorted, and short clips are circulatedwith false claims. He confirmed that he had not said anything about Kashmir.Conclusion:The bottom line: A small part of Wangchuk's interview video was taken out of context andshared on social media with a misleading claim.
