Kohli Donates 6.77 Lakh For Covid Treatment Of Former Bowler's Mother

Hyderabad: Indian captain Virat Kohli has come to the rescue of India's former woman cricketer Sravanthi Naidu's mother S.K. Suman, who has been battling Covid-19 since the past few days. Virat donated 6.77 lakh rupees for the treatment of Naidu's mother.
This issue was raised by R Sridhar, India's fielding coach and N. Vidya Yadav, former BCCI South Zone convenor (women’s cricket) and sister of ex-BCCI president N. Shivlal Yadav on Twitter. Virat Kohli was prompt to send help to Naidu who has already spent Rs. 16 lakh on the treatment of her mother.
“Honestly, I was amazed at his spontaneous gesture. Such a great gesture from such a great cricketer,” Vidya told Sportstar magaine.
"I am also grateful to the Indian fielding coach R Sridhar who also took up the issue with Kohli," she added.
Virat and Anushka started the fundraiser campaign on May 7. The couple collaborated with crowd-funding platform Ketto for the campaign #InThisTogether and donated Rs 2 crore towards the initiative. They had aimed to raise Rs 7 crore for Covid relief in India
Earlier, fielding coach, R Sridhar took to social media to inform about the former cricketer's parents. Tagging Virat Kohli, BCCI and Hanuma Vihari in a post, he wrote: "Former India and Hyd cricketer Sravanthi Naidu’s parents r fighting Covid19.She already spent Rs 16 lakh & is in urgent need of funds fr hospital expenses.
