Setback For Delhi Capitals! Harry Brook Likely To Miss IPL 2024: Report
Despite his hefty price tag of ₹13.25 crore, Harry Brook's performance with Sunrisers Hyderabad in last year's Indian Premier League (IPL) season fell short of expectations.
Delhi Capitals' IPL 2024 campaign has encountered a setback with an unfortunate development. England batsman Harry Brook is unlikely to participate in the forthcoming IPL season. England's Harry Brook, who was acquired by Delhi Capitals for ₹4 crore in IPL 2024 auction, was unable to participate in the recent Test series in India due to personal reasons and is unlikely to be available for IPL 2024.
With Harry Brook's availability uncertain, Delhi Capitals are reportedly exploring Fraser-McGurk as a potential replacement, as per reports from Code Sports.
The 21-year-old Australian all-rounder, who has previously represented Delhi Capitals' affiliate team, Dubai Capitals, in the ILT20, has garnered significant interest from the franchise.
Last October in a Marsh Cup match, Jake Fraser-McGurk made headlines by achieving a historic feat as he smashed the fastest List A century, reaching the milestone in just 29 deliveries. He surpassed the previous record held by former South African great AB de Villiers, who had achieved a century in 31 balls.
Despite his hefty price tag of ₹13.25 crore, Harry Brook's performance with Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2023 fell short of expectations. In 11 matches Brooks played for SRH in last year's IPL, he managed to score only 190 runs, failing to make a significant impact.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has granted him permission to represent the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024).
